Fred has more than 20 years of television experience forecasting Southern New England's fickle weather. His fascination with weather began as a young boy during the Blizzard of '78 and it has not waned since! Fred is a member of the American Meteorological Society and was among the first in New England to earn the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) distinction.
Fred returned to the Boston 25 News weather team in June 2019. His first tour with Boston 25 News was in 2014-2015 before he joined WTNH in New Haven, Connecticut as Senior Meteorologist. Fred started his television career at WLNE in Providence, Rhode Island where he served as the Chief Meteorologist from 2007-2012. When he is not on-air at Boston 25 News, Fred operates a weather consulting and forensic firm — Right Weather LLC.
In his free time, Fred enjoys spending time with his wife, Diane, and their three children. An avid runner, Fred has completed eight marathons, including the Boston Marathon twice. Fred attended the University of Colorado and Plymouth State University where he earned degrees in Economics and Meteorology. Fred and his family reside in his hometown of Bristol, Rhode Island.
