• Red Sox introduce new manager Alex Cora


    BOSTON - The Boston Red Sox held a news conference Monday afternoon to formally introduce Alex Cora as manager of the club.



    The club has agreed to a three-year contract that will run through 2020, with the option for Cora to stay for the 2021 season. The 42-year-old made his MLB coaching debut in 2017 as bench coach of the Houston Astros, helping lead the club to its first World Series Championship in franchise history.

    The hiring of Cora came a week-and-a-half after the club fired John Farrell.
