BOSTON - David Price pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out seven, as the Red Sox beat the Blue Jays 1-0 to earn their 100th victory of the season.
It’s the third time in franchise history the Red Sox have won 100 games, the first time since 1946, and the first time it’s been done by the Sox since Major League Baseball expanded its season schedule to 162 games.
The 2018 squad joined the teams from 1912, 1915 and 1946 in winning their 100th game and is now just six wins shy of breaking the franchise record of 105 wins that hasn’t been matched by any Sox team since 1912.
Rafael Devers scored the game's only run on a wild pitch by Blue Jays pitcher Aaron Sanchez in the fifth inning.
