DEDHAM - Free agency for New England Patriots fans has not been fun so far as they have watched some of the teams most popular players leave New England. But things can change quickly and they have started to change already as the Patriots have signed three veteran NFL free agents according to various reports.
Here is the lowdown on the Patriots three signings on this night:
RB JEREMY HILL : The 25 year old has played all four of his NFL seasons in Cincinnati. Hill missed 9 games last season when he went on injure reserve with an ankle injury. Hill is a duel threat out of the backfield as he can both run well and catch the ball. ESPN's Field Yates first reported the signing
DE ADRIAN CLAYBORN: The 30 year old has reportedly reached a two year deal with the Patriots according to multiple reports. According to ESPN the deal could max out at 12.5 million over two years. Clayborn was originally a first round draft pick by Tampa in 2011. He spent his first four seasons with the Bucs before spending the last four years with the Falcons. Clayborn was considered by many as the best available free agent pass rusher. He had 9.5 sacks with Atlanta last season.
OT MATT TOBIN: According to ESPN's Mike Reiss the Patriots have reached a deal with journeyman offensive tackle Matt Tobin. Tobin was an undrafted free agent out of Iowa in 2013. He played four seasons in Philadelphia with the Eagles and spent last year with Seattle. Tobin has appeared in 57 games and has started 21 games.
