Patriots popularity still on the rise

On Tuesday in Foxborough, the New England Patriots began a three-day mini-camp on the practice fields behind Gillette Stadium.  Despite the fact that there was a steady rain, dozens of media members from all parts of New England showed up to cover the start of this camp.

"You talk to guys from other teams who come here, and they see you guys and it's impressive to them.  It's a credit to our success on the field, I guess"  Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garropolo as he was swarmed by a large media contingent.

As is the case for most Patriots' seasons, there are dozens of new faces on this year's squad.  For them, experiencing the popularity, interest and scrutiny of how this team is covered is eye opening.

The Patriots full training camp is still six weeks away, and the regular season doesn't begin until approximately three months from now.  But when you are the defending Super Bowl champions, again, everything you do as a team is covered thoroughly.
