Pats preparing to make tough roster calls

Cut Day looming for Patriots

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — An abnormal preseason, combined with having a league-leading eight players opt out of the 2020 season because of COVID-19 concerns has created some tough decisions for the Patriots as they prepare to cut down their roster in advance of the regular season.

Some of the most difficult calls in New England are expected to be on the offensive line, at receiver and running back. Jermaine Eluemunor appears to be the front-runner to fill Marcus Cannon’s spot at right tackle. Likewise, Damien Harris’ strong camp may keep veteran Lamar Miller from making the roster at running back.
