Die-hard Patriots fan from Denmark visits Gillette Stadium

BOSTON — Kenneth Jorgensen may be one of the biggest Patriots fans in the world. “It’s basically my whole life. I eat, sleep and breathe Patriots 24/7,” he said.

Kenneth has traveled halfway around the world to prove it. “I come 3,500 miles from Esbjerg, Denmark to watch the Patriots play here at Gillette Stadium,” he commented.

The 39-year-old factory worker uses his vacation time each year to come to Foxboro. Last year he couldn’t come to the United States due to Covid. Kenneth arrived just in time to attend Sunday’s game against the Browns. This is Kenneth’s 9th trip to New England and he’s never once seen the team lose in person. “When I drove up to the parking lot seeing Gillette Stadium for the first time in 2 years, I got really emotional about that. I was literally sitting in my rental car crying a little bit,” he said.

Kenneth started following the Patriots in 1998 because they were the first NFL game shown on TV in Denmark. And he hasn’t missed watching one in 16 years, even if it means pulling an all-nighter since some games don’t kick-off until after 2 a.m. back at home.

Kenneth’s home in Denmark is a shrine to the 6-time Super Bowl champs. It includes all sorts of souvenirs, including a framed personal letter from head coach Bill Belichick.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft even sent a short video clip thanking Kenneth for his dedication. “Of course, I’m going to say I’m the biggest Patriots fan in the world. Of course, I will say that because I don’t know how many people are dedicating their whole life to the Patriots. I did that,” he said.

Kenneth said he’s spent more than half a million US dollars so far on his obsession with the Patriots. He plans to come back to watch the Patriots, in person at Gillette Stadium, every year for the rest of his life.
