Red Sox respond to Hunter’s claim of racial slurs at Fenway Park

Longtime major league outfielder Torii Hunter, who played for the Twins, Angels and Tigers over the course of 19 seasons, claimed to experience racial encounters at Fenway Park.

In an interview with WEEI’s Greg Hill Show, Hunter recalled fans at Fenway using the N-word and others surrounding those fans not doing anything to stop them. He included Boston on his no-trade list because of this experience, and others.

The Red Sox responded with a statement Wednesday afternoon.
