Busy Sunday leading to massive debate for New England sports fans

October tends to be a busy month when it comes to sports in New England, with the Patriots rolling through their season, the Celtics and Bruins starting up and the hope for a Red Sox postseason run.

However, there are occasionally Sunday's and Monday's where the stars align, leading to some conflict for those looking to keep up with all of their teams. October 14 is going to be one of those days, and fans are left to mentally prepare for New England sports madness.

On Sunday, the Red Sox will host the Houston Astros in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series, hoping to gain ground on the road to a potential World Series appearance.

An hour after the first pitch at Fenway, the Patriots will kick off a battle against the undefeated, 5-0 Kansas City Chiefs in a primetime, Sunday Night Football matchup.

With both teams playing at the same time for most of their games, fans will be left to make a choice.

"You only get so many Patriots games a year, and that's why they are all so special," Portland, Maine resident Ken Cole said. "But, it is the playoffs, and can't be the playoffs, though."

Some aren't as conflicted, prioritizing postseason action over a primetime Patriots game.

"Sorry, Tom. The sox are in the playoffs," Bill Algeyer said. "We're here to see the Sox, Roger."

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski even weighed in on the debate, trying to get the best of both worlds.

"You know Boston sports fans, they have 2 TV's," Gronkowski said. "The Red Sox game right there and the Patriots game right there."

Boston native Karen Russell was a big fan of Gronkowski's idea, and had one of her own.

"You either have 2 TV's on with one game on one TV, and one game on the other," Russell said. "Or, you do what I do, and you switch back and forth on the same TV."

Either way, sports fans are in for a treat when two of Boston's big four teams do battle on Sunday night.
