Brady sharp in preseason win over Eagles

FOXBORO - Tom Brady was sharp in his preseason debut, completing 19 of 26 passes as he played the first half of Thursday's matchup against Philadelphia.

Brady passed for 172 yards and completed touchdown passes to Chris Hogan and James White. The Patriots led the Eagles 27-7 at halftime.

Eagles quarterback Nick Foles suffered a right shoulder injury early in the second quarter as the Patriots defense forced a fumble, which was returned Ja'Whaun Bentley for a touchdown.  Foles did not return. Nate Sudfield took over when Foles left the game.

Brian Hoyer took over for Brady in the third quarter and connected with Cordarrelle Patterson for the final Patriots touchdown of the night.
