WALTHAM, Mass. — In this week's Boston 25 High School GameDay Game of the Week, Melrose travelled to Waltham and soundly defeated Waltham 42-7 at Leary Field on Friday night. Melrose was lead by Senior Quarterback Charlie Stanton and Senior Runningback Ray Guity.
Stanton threw for one touchdown and ran for another score. Guity had a great game on both sides of the ball. On offense Guity ran for two touchdowns including one for 87 yards in the first half that put Melrose up 21-0 at the time.
Melrose scored 6 touchdowns in this game. Two from Guity and one each from Charlie Stanton, Isaac Seide, Michael Fennell and Michael Koytikh.
Waltham's only touchdown of the game came on a pass from Quarterback Nick Caliri to Runningback Anthony Davis.
Melrose goes to 2-0 with the win. Waltham's record is now 1-1
