BOSTON - Alex Cora, who will manage the American League in the 2019 All-Star Game, will be joined by three of his players.
Mookie Betts, JD Martinez and David Price were all chosen as reserves, announced Sunday night.
Betts, the reigning American League MVP, has hit 13 home runs this season, knocking in 37 while batting ,261. The numbers are markedly down from last year's pace, but Betts remains among the elite outfielders in the American League. This is Betts' fourth All-Star appearance.
Martinez will make his third All-Star appearance and second as a member of the Red Sox. He is batting .298 with 18 home runs and 47 RBIs.
The All-Star Game is scheduled for Tuesday, July 9 in Cleveland and will be broadcast live on Boston 25.
