5 Ways to Save on Halloween Candy

There’s no need to break the bank this year!

  1. Look for coupons – Sunday paper, online, there are deals all over the place this time of year!
  2. Buy in bulk – Of course, if you only expect a few trick-or-treaters this may be not your best option, but it you anticipate lots of kids, buying in bulk may help you save!
  3. Fruity candy is cheaper than chocolate – Fruity and chewy candy is often cheaper than chocolate candies. A large bag may cost the same, but there will be more product in the fruity/chewy packs (compare cost per ounce!)
  4. Don't be fooled by the packaging -- Stores will often put Halloween-themed candies on display.  However, check the regular candy aisle to see if there are deals or cheaper options there. Regular M&Ms will taste the same as 'Halloween M&Ms'!
  5. Hand out baked goods – Baking is easy and cheap! Sugar cookies are among some of the cheapest cookies to make and always a hit with kids! Make the dough beforehand to save yourself some work on Halloween. Or, even better, buy the dough!
