Young Red Sox fan gets surprise of a lifetime

BOSTON — A young man got the surprise of a lifetime when his favorite Red Sox player showed up to his school.

Inside Boston Green Academy in Brighton, the 7th-grade students thought it was a normal Monday - until Jackie Bradley Jr. walked in.

The student with the biggest reaction to seeing the outfield walk into his class didn't even know he himself was the guest of honor!

"I'm here to present Lucas with tickets to the playoff game this upcoming weekend," said Bradley.

Lucas is known in the school for lighting up the room and always having a positive attitude. The surprise is part of a league-wide effort in each postseason market.

For Lucas, JBJ just happens to be his favorite player.

"Yeah. He's a god. He's the best outfielder," said Lucas.

"Thanks, buddy," said Bradley.

While it meant the world to Lucas, it also meant something to Bradley.

"Lucas has worked hard for this and I'm honored to even be here to be able to present him with this," said Bradley.

While Lucas counts down the days to see the Red ox in action, he's already predicting what will happen this weekend and beyond.

"World Series winners!" said Lucas.
