WORCESTER, Mass. — Worcester's Polar Park will be the first sports venue to have a fully automatic checkout store, according to an announcement.
The store will use artificial intelligence and 'machine vision' to track customers' purchases. As you walk through the store and pick up merchandise, the cameras will add it to your checkout and complete the purchase when you leave the store.
It will be located near center field and will be open to the public outside of game times.
The store will have snacks, drinks and souvenirs.
The technology for the store is being implemented by San Francisco-based Standard Cognition.
