Webster Police find meth inside Arizona Iced Tea can with fake bottom

WEBSTER, Mass. — Two men are under arrest after Webster Police found methamphetamine inside a car on Thursday night.

A Webster officer was on patrol at around 9:30 p.m. on Gore Road when he saw a car had no registration sticker on the license plate.

After looking the plate up, the officer found the registration was revoked due to insurance cancellation. The license plate was also coming back as being reported stolen.

When he approached the car, the officer saw a scale and money stuffed between the driver's seat and center console.

The driver identified himself as as Randy Murhammer, 36 of Falmouth, and didn't have a driver's license.

The passenger initially gave the officer a false name, but was later identified as Kevin Wood, 26, of Dudley.

Upon further investigation, officers found a small baggie containing a white powder, which is believed to be methamphetamine, which prompted officers to call in a police K-9.

As a result of the K-9 search, an Arizona Iced Tea can with a false bottom was found, which contained more of what appeared to be methamphetamine. In total, police seized 23 grams of the drug, valued at around $1,700.

Murhammer is being charged with the following:

  • Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Law
  • Trafficking more than 18 grams of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Class B Substance with the intent to Distribute
  • No registration in Possession
  • No License in Possession
  • Attaching Plates
  • Receiving Stolen Property
  • Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle
  • Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle

Wood is facing the following charges:

  • Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Law
  • Possession of a Class B Substance (subsequent offense)
  • Trafficking more than 18 grams of Methamphetamine

Wood was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from Dudley District Court.

Both men are being held at the Webster Police Department on $1,040 bail and will later be transported to Dudley District Court for arraignment.
