Police identify Waltham High School student killed in motorcycle crash

WALTHAM, Mass. — A Waltham High School student has died following a motorcycle crash last week.

Seventeen-year-old Mac Surette had just gotten his motorcycle license days earlier when he collided with a car making a U-turn on Main Street.

The 52-year-old woman behind the wheel told police she was late meeting friends.

Mac was taken to Mass General where he died from his injuries Sunday night.

On Wednesday, his family learned Mac's heart saved the life of a man in his 20s. Mac's friends raised more than $2,500 to help his family pay for the funeral.

Boston 25 News has reached out to the district attorney's office for an update on the investigation, but has not yet heard back.
