Dashcam video shows Hingham Police stop suspected drunk driver with children in car

HINGHAM, Mass. — Hingham Police arrested a suspected drunk driver who had two young children in the backseat.

Sergeant Steven Dearth attempted to pull over Noi Dong Vuong, 59, of Boston, around 11:45 p.m. Friday on Lincoln Street (Route 3A).

Dearth said Vuong had two children, ages five and seven-months, in the backseat at the time. He added the 5-year-old child wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

Dearth shared dashcam video which starts with him activating his cruiser's lights near the Planet Fitness. Vuong didn't stop after 15 seconds, so Dearth activated the cruiser's siren.

Dearth can be overheard saying Vuong was going around 10-miles-per-hour.

After about 50 seconds, Vuong puts on his right directional, but doesn't stop.

Vuong finally pulls over near 3A Marine Service, 90 seconds from when Dearth initiated the traffic stop. The distance the driver traveled before stopping was about a half mile.

Vuong is charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, two counts of child endangerment while operating under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation, failure to stop for police, child passenger restraint violation and marked lanes violation.
