Vehicle defect blamed for rollover at Camp Edwards that injured 3 soldiers

BOURNE, Mass. — A vehicle defect was the cause of a rollover on Joint Base Cape Cod that injured three soldiers, according to Massachusetts National Guard Public Affairs Officer Don Veitch.

Veitch said the three soldiers, from the New York Army National Guard, were in the tactical vehicle on Friday when it rolled over at Camp Edwards.

The soldiers were taken to Falmouth Hospital, but Veitch said their injuries didn't appear to be significant.

Veitch said an issue with the vehicle's steering rod caused the crash. Speed wasn't a factor.
