UMass Amherst professor charged with OUI after hitting baby stroller

HADLEY, Mass. — A 43-year-old Amherst woman was arrested on a charge of Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol Monday afternoon in Hadley after hitting a baby stroller with a black BMW. A 17-month-old child was in the stroller at the time, but no injuries were reported.

That woman was identified as Tammy Haut-Donahue, who the University of Massachusetts Amherst confirmed is a research professor of biomedical engineering at the school.

Hadley Police were called to the scene at the Mountain Farms parking lot around 2:30 p.m. Monday. Haut-Donahue will be arraigned in Eastern Hampshire District Court on Tuesday.
