HYANNIS, Mass. — An EF1 tornado with 110 mph winds ripped off a hotel roof, downed trees that blocked roads, and knocked out power to thousands on Cape Cod on Tuesday during the peak of tourist season.

The National Weather Service says the tornado began in Yarmouth and ended in Harwich.

No injuries have been reported, but families and companies are still assessing all the damage left behind.

That's where U-Haul is offering to help.

"The storm came in very quickly and caught many residents off guard," said Stoyan Kovachev, U-Haul Company of Southern Massachusetts & Cape Cod president. "U-Haul is stepping up to offer our neighbors a place to securely store their belongings during the clean-up process. We're proud to be part of this community."

Locals can use U-Haul storage for 30 days for free, according to the company.
