SALISBURY, Mass. — One man was hospitalized after being removed from the water with a second man at Salisbury Beach on Sunday, local police confirmed to Boston 25 News.
The incident occurred just after 1 p.m. Both victims are expected to be okay.
Several people rushed to help the two men and pulled them onto the beach.
"One guy got up and looked ok," said Gregory Piscia of Salisbury. "The other guy was on his back, then they rolled him on his chest, where he started vomiting up water."
First responders used a lifeguard truck to bring one of the men off of the beach and into a waiting ambulance.
Although police couldn’t say what caused the men to go under – swimmers told Boston 25 News that the rip currents felt strong.
"I stood there and it pulled me back and forth," said Erica Santarella of Salisbury.
