Truck carrying salad dressing hits bridge on 495 south in Mansfield

MANSFIELD, Mass. — A tractor-trailer carrying a cargo of salad dressing struck the underside of a bridge on Interstate 495 south in Mansfield Tuesday morning.

9:29 a.m. update-

The cleanup on I-495 continues. The middle and left lanes are now open but exit 11 remains closed and Massachusetts State Police are warning drivers to expect heavy delays on 495 south and 95 north. It's still not clear what flavors spilled onto the highway.

Original story:

The crash, which happened around 5:45 a.m., has closed exit 11 and traffic is moving only in the left lane, State Police tweeted. The contents of the truck are now splayed along the road, blocking travel in all lanes except the left lane.

The driver of the truck was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with minor injuries.
