Doris Campos had never seen anything like it in the more than 30 years she has owned Panchita’s Pupuseria, KABC reported.

“I had been in the kitchen cooking and heard a noise,” Campos told KRON. “I see a lady fighting with my daughter. She didn’t pay any attention to me, she just wanted to hit my daughter.”

Campos’ daughter, Doris Vargas, told the customer her order would be ready in 15 minutes but it ended up taking about 20 minutes to prepare. The woman became upset and started yelling. She then picked up a 5-pound jug of hand sanitizer and threw it at Vargas, who was holding her 2-year-old son, video shows.

“I see that and I know I need to do something,” Campos, 60, told KRON. “I wasn’t thinking but knew I had to do something.”

She flipped a table and started ramming the woman with it. No one was injured and the woman eventually left the restaurant without her order.

“I always knew she was strong and would do whatever to protect her children and grandchildren,” Vargas told KRON.

San Francisco police are investigating.

The family hopes the woman is identified and held accountable.

“I hope she is caught and she gets therapy,” Campos said.
