“Northbound I-35 south of Faribault is closed and detoured,” the Minnesota Department of Transportation wrote 30 minutes later in a tweet, which included photos from the scene. “High winds blew over several tractor-trailers. Plan ahead. Slow down. Watch for emergency responders. I-35 southbound remains open.”

Around 3:40 p.m., the department tweeted that traffic was moving again.

The Minnesota State Patrol said nobody was injured in connection with the wrecks, KMSP reported.

The storm also damaged buildings, downed power lines and uprooted trees along the city’s south side, according to WCCO. Hail also pounded the area, the news outlet reported.
