Walmart pulls ‘All Lives Matter,’ other shirts sold by third-party sellers

In response to complaints, Walmart is pulling a series of shirts that proclaim all lives matter.

Social media users have been criticizing Walmart for allowing third-party vendors to sell shirts on its online store stating “All Lives Matter,” “Blue Lives Matter,” “Irish Lives Matter” and “Homeless Lives Matter,” saying that the phrases mock the Black Lives Matter movement, CNN reported.

The slogan Black Lives Matter was started after the 2012 killing of Trayvon Martin but has grown in prominence recently after the death of George Floyd in late May.

Walmart told CNN sellers on the online marketplace are reviewed on specific criteria before they get the OK to sell on Walmart.com, including items that comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal requirements and generally accepted industry standards.

Company officials told CBC they will review items to make sure they comply with the rules the company set forth for third-party sellers.
