RICHMOND, Va. — A Virginia man has been indicted on murder, assault and abuse charges more than a year after his toddler daughter died, authorities said.

According to WTVR and WWBT, a grand jury indicted Isaiah Nipson last week in connection with the death of the child, whom police found unresponsive in a Richmond home Aug. 6, 2019. The girl died at a nearby hospital, the news outlets reported.

Detectives investigated the death and shared their findings with the grand jury, leading to the indictment of Nipson, who initially faced child abuse and neglect charges, according to the outlets. No further information was immediately availble.
