The U.S. Bureau of Prisons confirmed to the AP that Kaczynski was moved on Dec. 14 to North Carolina, but would not disclose any reason for the transfer or any details of any medical conditions Kaczynski may have.

Ted Kaczynski was arrested in 1996 and pleaded guilty in January 1998 to creating and setting off bombs that killed three people and injured nearly two dozen others over 17 years between 1978 and 1995, according to the FBI.

Kaczynski was moved to FMC Butner in North Carolina, a spokesperson told The Washington Post.
