Trump to resume campaign rallies in Tulsa on June 19

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he plans to return to campaign rallies across the country beginning with a rally on June 19 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

After being held up in Washington, D.C., for months due to the coronavirus shutdown, Trump says his campaign intends to hold rallies in Florida, Texas, Arizona and North Carolina as well as the Oklahoma rally.

"Americans are ready to get back to action and so is President Trump. The Great American Comeback is real and the rallies will be tremendous," Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale said Monday. “You’ll again see the kind of crowds and enthusiasm that Sleepy Joe Biden can only dream of.”

The format for the rallies have not been explained, nor have locations been named.

According to The Associated Press, there will be smaller high-dollar events in Dallas, where he is going Thursday, and at Trump’s private club in New Jersey. A COVID-19 test will be administered to the roughly two dozen attendees at each fundraiser.

The rally will take place on Juneteenth, a day commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S. Some critics are slamming Trump for choosing the date and have made note that the rally would be a few weeks after 99th anniversary of the Tulsa race massacre that ended with more than 300 people dead.
