Police said Bethany Martin, 17, and a friend found a man’s body in a drainage ditch Monday morning, KSAT reported.

Before calling the authorities, police said the two girls called a friend who then called the police, KABB reported.

The man had killed himself, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

But the next day, police officers received two videos from an anonymous person. One was a video of the man’s body, while the other allegedly showed two girls removing a chain and medallion from the body, KABB reported.

The teens seen in the video were identified by a sheriff’s office investigator who said they were witnesses at the scene of the body.

Martin told the police that she removed the necklace from the man because her friend liked it. She then said she took off the pendant, gave it to her friend, before throwing the chain into the grass.

The friend, who was not named, told police that she put the pendant on her own chain after recoding the Snapchat video because it “matched her fashion style,” KSAT reported.

She handed over the pendant to the police who returned it to the man’s family, KSAT reported.

Martin was charged with theft to a human corpse or grave. Bond was set at $2,000 and she has been released from jail, KSAT reported.
