Astronomy buffs were treated to a stunning natural light show overnight as two meteor showers, the Southern Delta Aquariids and Alpha Capricornids, reached their peak. A third meteor shower, the Perseids, also was active and is expected to peak on Aug. 11 to 12, according to the American Meteor Society.
