El Paso Fire Department said in a Facebook post that a car fell into a sinkhole in the area on Tuesday.

According to a video from EPFD public information officer Enrique Duenas-Aguilar, which was obtained by CBS News, a white sedan was seen “submerged and sinking in water” in the middle of an intersection. People in the area, along with fire crews, were able to keep the back end of the car above water long enough to pull the woman out of the rear windshield. Moments later, the car was dragged down by the water and swallowed into the sinkhole.

EPFD was able to help the woman get out safely with the help of some good Samaritans who assisted the crews. The woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

EPFD said that the area will be closed for an unknown period of time and advised drivers in the area to use other routes.

No information has been released about the cause of the sinkhole.
