Plane skids off taxiway at Kansas City International Airport

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A plane skidded off a slick taxiway Friday morning at Kansas City International Airport.

Joe McBride, a spokesman for KCI, said the nose wheel of a Delta Air Lines A319 dipped off the pavement while taxiing Friday morning from the terminal. No injuries were reported.

Icy conditions at the airport prompted officials to temporarily close the airfield for deicing. Freezing rain and sleet were expected in the Kansas City area Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Flights were resumed around 7:40 a.m. local time.
