MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Rapper Young Dolph will be memorialized with a street in Memphis.
Memphis City Councilman J.B. Smiley announced that the city will rename a street in memory of the rapper, WHBQ reported.
Young Dolph, whose real name was Adolph Robert Thornton, Jr., was shot and killed when he visited Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies bakery last month.
Smiley said he will sponsor a resolution on Dec. 7 to rename a street, with the ceremony to officially debut the name occurring on Dec. 15, WHBQ reported.
A public memorial service is also being planned by Young Dolph’s family. Details on the ceremony will be released later, WHBQ reported.
