GETTYSBURG, Pa. — A man has been arrested in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, for allegedly kidnapping three children on Monday.
According to WHP-TV, the Gettysburg Police Department said officers arrested Jason Harris, 44, for allegedly stealing a car in a Walmart parking lot that had three children inside.
According to WHTM, Harris then headed north on U.S. Route 15 at high speed. Pennsylvania state troopers began to chase him and eventually were able to box in the car in York County, Pennsylvania. Harris was then arrested.
Troopers said that the three children inside of the car were not injured. According to WHTM, the children called 911 from inside the car and were able to give first responders directions to where they were.
According to WHP-TV, the children were boys ages 7, 12 and 14.
Harris is facing recommended charges of kidnapping, endangering the welfare of a child, theft of a motor vehicle, fleeing and eluding a police officer, and other DUI-related offenses, according to WHP-TV.
