‘Father of the Bride’ cast reunite for online benefit

The hit movie “Father of the Bride” will be getting another sequel, sort of.

As part of a fundraiser for the World Central Kitchen, the cast of the 1991 comedy will be reuniting Friday, CNN reported.

World Central Kitchen has helped feed those in need during natural disasters and the coronavirus pandemic.

It was started by Chef José Andrés.

A teaser trailer was released this week, announcing the special that’s being dubbed "Part 3 (ish), People magazine reported.

The teaser shows a montage from both the 1991 film and the 1995 sequel before Diane Keaton yells off-camera for Steve Martin as he washes his hands to sanitize against the coronavirus.

He responds, also off-camera, “I’m just washing my hands! One more ‘Happy Birthday’ to go.”

Before the trailer was released, Netflix also put together a teaser that shows Martin’s character, George Banks, going through his emails and getting an “invitation” for a family meeting.

In addition to Martin and Keaton, they will be joined by the original cast, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, George Newbern, Martin Short and Kieran Culkin, along with other“special guests.”

The reunion will start streaming Friday, Sept. 25, at 6 p.m. ET on both Netflix’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.

“Father of the Bride” (1991) was a remake of a 1950 film starring Spencer Tracy, Joan Bennett and Elizabeth Taylor.
