Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele told KYW-TV that Jennifer Brown’s body was found on Wednesday afternoon.

Brown’s body was found partially buried in a shallow grave behind a warehouse in Royersford, WCAU reported.

“I can’t tell you how many people have worked through this and have helped in this case to try to locate her,” Steele told WCAU. “We hoped and prayed that she would be safe. And she is not.”

Brown was reported missing after she failed to pick her son up from the bus stop on Jan. 4, Steele said in a news release announcing her disappearance. Brown had last been seen at 2 p.m. on Jan. 3 by a friend and business associate, Steele said.

Brown’s car was found parked outside of her home. Her car keys, wallet purse and work cellphone were found inside the house. Steele said Brown’s personal cellphone is missing and has not been communicating since Jan. 4.

“She was a devoted mother of an 8-year-old boy, and by all accounts, she would never have left him unattended or unsupervised,” Steele told WPVI.

“She is a doting, I call her, helicopter mom,” Brown’s best friend, Tiffany Barron, told WCAU. “She loves her own. She would never leave her son.”

Investigators did not announce a cause of death or say whether there are any suspects in Brown’s death, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

The person who reported Brown missing, Antonio Watts-Richardson, told WCAU that he saw her when he picked up her son for a sleepover at his house.

“I have nothing to do with anything,” he told the station. “Just because I’m the last person to see her, that does not mean anything. … I’m the first person that was the one calling the police, trying to kick down windows. Trying to find my friend. Trying to make sure her son is covered.”
