According to WCSH-TV, York’s Wild Kingdom said the new arrival, a foal named Sunday, was born overnight July 24.

“It was an exciting morning when our zookeepers came in to find the new foal,” the zoo’s general manager, Samantha Sauls, told WCSH.

The zoo took to Facebook last week to announce the news and share photos of the baby and its mother.

“Both foal and mother are doing great,” the zoo captioned the July 27 post.

Days later, the zoo posted more snapshots of the pair, urging zoo patrons to see the foal for themselves.

Sauls told WCSH that the baby has been nursing, walking and resting under the watchful eye of its “very protective” mother.
