Amazon driver arrested for stealing packages from porches along her route, officials say

ST. LOUIS — An Amazon delivery driver moonlighted as a porch pirate, stealing an estimated 20 packages from porches along her route, investigators said.

The St. Charles County Police Department said Alyssa George, 22, stopped at homes along her route from Dec. 15 to Dec. 17 and stole packages from porches, KSDK reported.

George, with the help of an unidentified man, stole about $750 worth of items items including a Weber grill accessory kit, socks from Target, deodorant, an Instant pot and Christmas lights, investigators said.

Detectives were flooded on social media with images of George from neighbors’ surveillance cameras.

George worked for Southland Parcel, a company that delivers packages for Amazon. Investigators confirmed her identity after comparing the surveillance images with her state Department of Revenue photo. They also confirmed her employment with Amazon. A photo shows her arriving to work wearing similar clothes seen in a surveillance image.

George was arrested and charged with felony stealing. The man has not yet been charged.
