Police: 2 Labradors found fatally shot, wrapped in Christmas lights

CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. — Two dogs that were reported missing earlier in the month were found Monday fatally shot and wrapped in Christmas lights, investigators said.

Amanda Justice reported Rocky and Willow, her 2-year-old Labradors, missing Nov. 14.

“We let them out Saturday morning and I believe they started chasing a deer,” Justice told WZTV.

Justice said the dogs usually did not wander far, so it was strange when they did not return. The dogs were found shot dead Monday, placed back to back, wrapped in Christmas lights and covered in holly brush, WKRN reported.

“Why would you do this to two innocent dogs that did nothing to anyone?” Justice said.

The family is devastated. They are offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to whoever is responsible, WKRN reported.

“I have no idea who did it,” Justice told WZTV. “I mean the dogs were not mean at all. They were my kid’s dogs. I hope that you get caught. I hope that it never happens again to anyone.”
