The automaker announced Wednesday that it is recalling 191,000 vehicles, including certain 2003 through 2008 Corollas and 2005 through 2008 Matrix hatchbacks, according to news reports.

The recall involves vehicles that already had defective Takata air bags replaced, but the replacement bags, which were not made by Takata, may have been damaged, USA Today reported.

CBS News reported the replacements may not unfold in high temperatures, posing an increased risk of injury in a crash.

Toyota, which will begin contacting owners in October, said dealers will replace the air bags on specified cars for free.
