"Innovation that moves the body and soul has always been at the heart of our brand, and this next chapter in our history is about creating products and opportunities for existing and aspiring riders of all ages and walks of life," Matt Levatich, president and CEO of the 116-year-old brand, said in a release.

It’s not your father’s Harley.

LiveWire’s torque is available immediately, catapulting it from 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds. There is no clutch to shift, making it easier for riders of any ability to smoothly accelerate. The $29,799 motorcycle will cover 110 miles on a single charge and has the same charging adapter that cars use.

Although it produces no exhaust, its specially designed magnet electric motor produces a tone that changes with its acceleration.

The electric engine is quieter than its internal combustion predecessor - but the new bike roared to top honors in the automotive category of the world's biggest consumer electronics show.
