Travonte Jayrell Trammell, 24, of Rome, faces a multitude of felony charges in connection with the alleged kidnapping and rape Sunday as well as two prior incidents, the Rome News-Tribune reported.

On Sunday, he allegedly kidnapped the teenage girl, taking her to the Sunrise Inn and Suites at 1610 Martha Berry Highway, the newspaper reported. He's accused of threatening her with a loaded gun, raping her, punching her in the face, choking her until she passed out and holding her head underwater in a bathtub until she thought she would die, according to arrest warrants obtained by the News-Tribune.

Police eventually found them, and he’s accused of fighting with them during the arrest, the warrants said. He allegedly thrashed around violently and pushed them away as they tried to detain him. More than an ounce of marijuana was found on him, along with digital scales and small plastic bags, the warrants said.

On July 15, he allegedly kidnapped a 15-year-old girl he was in a relationship with, taking her to his home off Beverly Drive against her will, the newspaper reported. She tried to call her mother, so he allegedly choked and threatened to kill her before throwing her phone at her, leaving visible injuries. When police arrived, he allegedly took her phone and ran away.

On Nov. 10, 2018, he’s accused of beating his ex-girlfriend before dragging her into a different room at the apartment off Redmond Circle where he lived at the time, the News-Tribune reported. In connection with the three incidents, he faces 20 felonies and seven misdemeanors, Floyd County Jail records show.

The felony charges include three counts of obstruction, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of statutory rape, two counts of kidnapping a minor, two counts of false imprisonment, two felony marijuana charges, two felony firearm possession charges, and one count of rape, child molestation, third-degree battery, first-degree child cruelty and armed robbery.
