Farm donates hundreds of Christmas trees for military families

GOBLES, Mich. — Military families are going to be the recipients of Christmas spirit thanks to farmers in Michigan.

One hundred volunteers bundled up 465 trees from Wahmhoff Farms Nursery in Gobles, Michigan, Monday morning to send to military members and their families at Fort Knox and Fort Hood, WZZM reported.

Wahmohoff Farms has been holding the event each year since 2006, Michigan Live reported.

The farm is a partner of the Trees for Troops program, which was started in 2005.

Each year, Trees for Troops delivers thousands of trees across the country and around the world. This year the group hopes to bring 18,000 trees to the homes of those serving our country, according to Michigan Live.

Over the past 14 years, the organization has collected and delivered more than 225,000 trees from 800 tree farms, WZZM reported.
