Coffee commotion: Angry customer spills hot coffee on McDonald's employee, police say

A Tennessee man was arrested after police said he intentionally spilled hot coffee on a McDonald's employee after complaining it was "too watery."

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A Tennessee man was arrested after police said he intentionally spilled hot coffee on a McDonald's employee after complaining it was "too watery."

The incident happened Thursday morning at a Nashville McDonald's, WKRN-TV reported.

According to Metro Nashville Police, Charles Prince, 59, complained to an employee that his coffee was too watery and asked for a stronger cup. An employee replied that the coffee is brewed daily, police said.

That's when Prince became upset and knocked the large cup of coffee over on the counter, WZTV-TV reported. Police said the coffee spilled onto another employee's arm and left visible burn marks.

Prince was arrested and charged with assault. He has since posted $1,500 bail.
