A teacher notified a Slidell Police Department school resource officer Monday after spotting the 5-year-old child with a bag of white powder. The officer determined the powder was cocaine and subsequently discovered two other bags of crack cocaine on the child, according to authorities.

"Throughout the investigation, it was apparent the child had no knowledge about the drugs," police said.

Authorities conducted a search warrant on the child's house, where they found more narcotics, according to police. Investigators determined cocaine was being stored in the child's clothing without the child's knowledge, police said.

Authorities arrested Angelica Stanley, 23, and Ellis Cousin, 51, on charges of possession of a Schedule II narcotic with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and cruelty to a juvenile.

Authorities continue to investigate.
