Three suspects arrested for 2017 Haverhill homicide of 18-year-old

HAVERHILL, Mass. — Three suspects were arrested in connection to the 2017 homicide of a Haverhill man, police say.

The three men, all Delaware natives, were identified as 20-year-old Nicholas Mandato, 21-year-old Thomas Warner and 18-year-old Kenneth Pitts.

The arrests come after the suspects allegedly shot and killed 18-year-old Bryce Finn on June 6, 2017, after he answered the front door at his Haverhill home.

"I'm grateful to the state police and Haverhill Detectives for their hard work and diligence in pursuing justice for Mr. Finn," Essex County District Attorney Jonathan W. Blodgett said. "I particularly want to thank the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit for their professionalism and assistance during this phase of the investigation."

Haverhill Police Chief Alan DeNaro said "those responsible will be vigorously prosecuted," and said he was happy to arrest those allegedly suspected of the crime.

"After more than one year of intense investigative effort, the Haverhill Police Department is pleased that we were able to successfully bring closure for the Finn family regarding this tragic event," DeNaro said.

Meagan Finn, Bryce's mother, issued this statement after the arrests were announced:

"What our family has gone through in the past year no family should ever be faced with. Our son Bryce, brought happiness and love to so many lives and expected little in return. There are no words to accurately convey the amount of joy that was wrenched from our lives beginning that horrible night more than a year ago. To our community, we ask that you honor Bryce's memory by continuing his legacy of love. Hug your kids, kiss your partner, help to take action to see that this never occurs in our community again. We wish to thank all those who have worked so tirelessly to make these arrests and hopefully be able to bring our family and our boy, Bryce, Justice."
