Tewksbury man arrested at Holiday Inn for drug trafficking, possession

TEWKSBURY, Mass. — The Tewksbury Police Department arrested a 27-year-old man on Tuesday for drug trafficking and possession.

Ryan McAteer was arrested for trafficking more than 18 grams of methamphetamine and possession of GHB & a Class E substance.

Detectives received information that there was a large amount of methamphetamine inside Room 307 of the Holiday Inn located at 4 Highwood Drive.

A search warrant was obtained for the room and when detectives searched the room they recovered about 31 grams of methamphetamine, GHB, and other prescription medications from the room.

McAteer was present during the search.

He was arraigned at Lowell District Court on Wednesday and held on $2,500 cash bail. He is due back in court on October 20, 2020, for a probable cause hearing.
