Taxi driver stabbed in Hyannis, 19-year-old arrested, police say

HYANNIS, Mass. — A 19-year-old man has been arrested after a taxi driver was stabbed during a confrontation in Hyannis Monday night, police said.

Barnstable Police officers responded to Camp Street at 7:30 p.m. after receiving a call from a taxi driver who told police he had been stabbed.

Officers found the victim along with a suspect who was leaving the area as police arrived.

The taxi driver suffered what appeared to be knife wounds to the upper torso, police said. His condition was not available Monday night.

The suspect, a Bourne man, was not immediately identified. Officers arrested him at the scene.

The stabbing remains under investigation.
