Suspicious person impersonating police outside Abington bar

ABINGTON, Mass. — Abington Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspicious person from an area bar on Friday night.

According to an official release from the department, the person in question was claiming to be a member of Abington PD and offering patrons leaving the establishment a ride home for safety purposes.

Officials confirmed the suspect was not a member of the police department.

The suspect is described as a white male, whose height ranges from 5-foot-9 to 6-feet. Police say he has a scruffy dark beard and was wearing dark clothing that night.
